TJ Pitre is Product Architect for AI and Design Systems at Figma, where he builds better tooling for design systems teams. He lives at the intersection of design systems and AI, focused on structuring design system context well enough that AI agents can use it with near-total reliability. He’s equally invested in design-led systems and code-first workflows, and doesn’t think teams have to choose between them.
That focus comes out of 15+ years in design systems. TJ founded Southleft, a design systems and AI tooling studio, and has built tools like Figma Console MCP, Story UI, and the Design Systems Assistant MCP to put his thinking into practice. Between speaking and contributing to the community, he’s home in New Orleans, building things and figuring out what to build next.
